PHBF Welcomes our New Ambassador Luke Hughes

On behalf of the Peter Hughes BURN Foundation we would like to introduce our New Ambassador Luke Hughes.

Luke is an Australian baseball player for Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins.

His commitment, passion, drive, and personality have brought so much to the baseball and local community. Luke’s amazing attitude is an example to us all about not giving up and following your dream and the PHBF is proud to bestow upon him the title of Ambassador. Luke you make a significant impact in your community and you are a role model for us all, and we cannot think of anyone more deserving.

This position is not simply an honorary title but one that recognises Luke as someone that helps make a difference in the community. This is the American baseball off-season and while in Australia Luke is playing for the Perth Heat; it’s what you don’t see on the TV that makes Luke who he is. Luke goes to schools and does public speaking about the benefits of sport and about following your dream and about not giving up a motto of the PHBF for all us survivors.

Alongside the Peter Hughes BURN Foundation, Luke will be working with us to promote our programs and BURNS awareness.

First off, I would like thank the Peter Hughes BURNS Foundation for the opportunity to join a fantastic Foundation that helps so many people Australia wide.

It is an honour and a privilege to come on board to such a worthy charity.

The work that the foundation does to help Burn victims become BURN Survivors is second to none. The program offers so many people the chance to join a very close support network group that helps people learn to Live beyond the BURN.
