Many burn injuries, especially involving children, are caused by hot liquids!
Never add hot water while a child is in the bath.
Install child resistant taps and anti scald devices on bath taps and shower heads.
Keep hot liquids away from table and counter edges.
Never carry or hold a child and hot liquids at the same time.
Test all heated liquid before giving it to a child or placing it within their reach.
Remove tablecloths when toddlers are present in the home, as they tug and pull on objects within reach. They can easily pull hot liquids onto themselves.
Avoid leaving hot water in the kettle in case a child pulls on the cord, use a flask.
