Burns are not always caused instantly and can go unnoticed for a period of time.
Ultraviolet light from the sun can cause severe burns. Wear a hat that covers and protects the neck. Use sun protection cream, particularly on the nose and the tops of the ears, and especially between the hours of 11am and 4pm.
Wear thick long pants if riding on a motorbike, trike or quad. Beware the hot exhaust, which can cause serious burns if contact is made with bare skin.
Never start a fire or re-light a slow fire with any kind of flammable liquid such as petrol or paraffin.
